Privacy policy

This policy explains what Quanta Clip ("we", "us") collects when you use quantaclip.com, why, and the choices you have. We're based in the United Kingdom and follow UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).
What we collect
- Your account. When you sign in with Google we receive your name, email address and an account ID from Google (through Firebase Authentication). We create a username for you, which you can change.
- Clips you save to the cloud. Clips, thumbnails and project files you choose to save or share are stored on Cloudflare R2 so you can get them on other devices.
- Things you send us. Messages you send through the Contact page, and clips you share to Community.
- Payments. Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see your full card details. Stripe tells us your plan, whether it is active, and the amount paid.
- Visit counts. We count page views and how many people visit each day, and which website sent them (for example "google.com"). This is not linked to your account and uses no tracking cookies.
- Usage records. When you joined, when you were last active, how much storage or how many credits you use, and any account actions (for example a ban) needed to run the service fairly.
What we don't collect
The videos you clip are processed inside your own browser. We don't receive them unless you save or share the resulting clips. We don't sell your data and we don't use advertising trackers.
Why we use it (lawful basis)
To provide the service you asked for (contract); to keep it secure and stop abuse, and to understand how many people use it (legitimate interests); and to keep payment records (legal obligation).
Who we share it with
Only the providers that run the service: Google Firebase (sign-in), Cloudflare (hosting and storage), and Stripe (payments). Clips you share to Community are visible to everyone with your username.
Storage on your device
We use your browser's local storage and IndexedDB to keep you signed in, remember your settings and brand, hold clips on your device, and remember that you've already been counted as a visitor today. These are needed for the site to work, so we don't ask for consent for them. We don't set advertising or analytics cookies.
How long we keep it
Account and clip data is kept while your account exists. If you ask us to delete your account we remove your account record and stored clips. Payment records are kept as long as the law requires.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, download or delete your data, or object to how we use it. Use the Contact page on the site. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Children
Quanta Clip is not meant for children under 13.
Changes
If we change this policy we'll update the date above and, for big changes, tell you on the site.
